Working with handwoven cotton silk and raw silk, woven at a small village in Madhya Pradesh called Chanderi, Aditya Sikand's collection is made of natural yarns that are home spun. All the embroideries and detailing is done by hand at their home studio now based at Chandigarh, by a small and efficient team of 4 people.
When there is so much love and craftsmanship involved in a product, it becomes special and somehow part of an emotion that you don’t want to part with and sometimes could possibly become part of another generation and thats where the idea of slow fashion becomes more approachable and understandable for this brand.
More about the process-
Their fabric is woven by locals at their homes and at an average one person is able to weave 2 - 3 meters of fabric per day, so the process itself is a 100% hand done, slow and sustainable. The embroidery process can take hours and days depending on the design and concept of every piece. Everything is hand crafted by fine artisans from the buttons to tassels to each and every small sequin or cut bead.
The approach has to be honest, gentle and refined. No animals/ humans are harmed/forced in any of the processing or the making of any of our products. The brand does not use vegetable or plant dyes yet, though the dyes are completely azo & lead free. They are a working with fine hand embroideries only. There is no machine or computer involved.
